2013 - Friday 22nd March

So I haven’t had a Friday off in a while, therefore it was date night for me and the boyf!

DATE NIGHT: First went to my local David Lloyds gym, not much for exercise but for a swim, jacuzzi and sauna session! Followed by going to the movies to watch Wreck it Ralph, and then Frankie and Benny’s for a dinner date.
Not bad!

WORK: Back to work tomorrow. Finding it quite overwhelming yet excited having a major increase of shifts! Looking forward to payday!

HOLIDAY: And oh yes, Ross has decided that we are going to Dubai in June for a week. He found an amazing package deal that we could not refuse!
All inclusive 5* hotel, 8 al a carte restaurants to chose from, one of the top nightclubs located inside our hotel, and we have access to a beach club that includes an infinity pool. Excited much?!

All for £1000. Incredible. The hotel is called Mövenpick IBN Battuta Gate.
That’s what you get when you have an ex- travel agent and current easyjet steward for a boyfriend…

Sheena Loves Sunsets: Travelin' The Tourist Way

Sometimes, the journey is the destination itself and when we’re talking about camels in Egypt and elephants in India, you know that is 100% correct! Ding ding ding!

People always say “try new things!” but the moment they’re faced with it, they always hesitate and give excuses. Whether those…

Getting there slowly :)

2013 - Day 11

Ok, so technically I haven’t been writing diary entries day by day, but come on give me a break- I’m on holiday, and having a lovely time! I’m currently writing this in my notepad app on my iPhone as I am not paying for wifi! I’m sure I can cope 5 days without it. I’m also being infested with a few flies because I am covered in sweet smelling oil after my full body massage, (yea you heard) and I am NOT jumping in this freezing cold pool. There’s a heated one in another area but I can’t be bothered. So we arrived Wednesday evening. Was a five hour flight, had freezing cold numb feet as we were near the front so definitely wearing socks on the way back! In the early hours of yesterday morning, around 5am, the loud megaphone prayers woke us up and creeped us out! Every now and then you hear the loud prayers from all different areas which is quite cool. If you listen carefully you can hear them all in the distance. The food is good; it’s obviously average compared to our English food because they can’t really get decent produce in the middle of the desert. Still trying their best though as there’s a pretty decent variety. Iv also noticed something; I tend to eat SO MUCH when I’m on holiday! When it’s all inclusive, I take great advantage of this. I hardly eat at home, never bothered about breakfast either. But my god, when I’m holiday it’s like omelette, pancakes, pastries, yoghurt, toast, tea, etc etc. Then before you know it, it’s lunch time and I’m devouring a beautiful cheeseburger and fries! With lots of nice salad in it luckily, so at least I feel a little bit healthy! Even though salad is obviously healthy, you’ve gotta be careful with this salad because they rinse it in their own water - ironic really that something is good for you as well as it could probably give you the shits.. Anyway - I’m in my bikini and enjoying the sun, how are you back in England? Hehe. However, I will soon be getting my SuperDry windcheater jacket out for the evening; as it will soon go from 24 degrees to 11 degrees. Gulp. We had flavoured Shisha last night and piña coladas but we soon had to leave as our legs were getting really cold! Darn it. You can’t go to Egypt and not have Shisha though. The bedroom is stunning, and the bed (especially the pillows) are divine. Well to be honest, the entire hotel is stunning. 5* Hotel with an Italian designer so it’s very grand. It’s called Iberotel Il Mercato. Look it up. Theres also a wonderful, pretty (yet westernised) square which makes it look like we are in the middle of the resort instead of on the outskirts. Theres also, Mcdonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut etc that we are trying our best to avoid. This was a really good idea (from the boyf) for us to get away and grab some winter sun. Never gone away in January before! It’s always been when its summer back in England. Because who wants to stay there for some sun? It’s shite. If I were to give it a down side - the Russians are incredibly arrogant and rude. But I guess we are the only people who know the meaning of manners. That makes me sound like a snob but its so true! The entertainment is slightly naff on some nights but hey, its the winter season and iv come here to relax, not go clubbing. Pictures will be uploaded when I get back; but now it’s time to wash all this sticky sun cream off, get ready for dinner (yep more food!) and plan to have an early one as we are watching the sunrise tomorrow and spending the day at the beach! I hope it’s not too windy.. Speak soon. Amy Lee x P.s. oh my god. There are strappy sandals with white socks everywhere, as well as mullets. The Russians have an amazing fashion sense… NAAAT! Sorry to all the Russians out there who think otherwise..

2013 - Day 7

Sorry I missed out day 6; but as you could probably tell from my other posts that I was getting merry and busting some moves on the dance floor at the staff party.

It was pretty darn good! I will update a couple of pics to show the glam.

  • Bacon sandwich demolished early this afternoon. That was heaven, I was even shaking I was so hungry for energy.
  • Long hangover bath done
  • Plenty of tea drank
  • Fish, birds and hamsters cleaned and fed - will do hamsters tomorrow.
  • Suitcase finally packed for EGYPT! Leaving to go to the boyfriends tomorrow and then off to stay at Gatwick hotel before our flight Wednesday morning!
  • The cat hopped into my suitcase, but unfortunately, I had to tell her she couldn’t come. Sorry Min-Min.
  • I need to paint my nails a nice pale pinky peach colour, as they will look more luminous the more I become tanned (hopefully.)
  • Luckily I am still tired from the night before otherwise I wouldn’t be able to sleep because of the excitement. It hasn’t even kicked in really; guaranteed it will tomorrow though!

So! I’d best crack on with it and make sure I don’t forget anything!

I doubt I will be able to post anything whilst I’m abroad but I’ll see if I can get free Wifi or something!

Amy Lee x

Erm I think Min-Min wants to help me pack! Or is saying ‘take me with youuu!’ #cute #cat #holiday #packing
